Classroom Expectations
To ensure a positive and productive experience for everyone, we’ve outlined a few key expectations and guidelines. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned quilter, these will help create a fun, respectful, and creative environment for all.
What to Bring:
Each student is expected to bring a basic sewing supply kit to class. For beginners, this is a great time to start your own collection of tools so you can continue sewing from home. Please bring items like:
-
Fabric scissors or rotary cutter
-
Seam ripper
-
Pins and/or clips
-
Measuring tape or quilting ruler
-
Notebook and pen for notes
Having your own tools will help keep the class running smoothly and ensure you're ready to jump into each project with ease.
Community & Classroom Courtesy
In this class, we value kindness, patience, and respect. Everyone comes in with different skill levels and experiences, and that diversity makes our learning environment stronger. Be supportive of one another, share tips, and celebrate each other’s progress. Let’s make this space one where everyone feels welcome and inspired.
We also ask that you help keep the classroom clean and organized. Please tidy your area at the end of each session, dispose of thread scraps and fabric trimmings, and return shared tools where they belong. To protect our beautiful Baby Lock machines and your quilting projects, all drinks must be placed on the dedicated drink shelf—no exceptions. This small step helps keep liquids far from electronics and fabrics, ensuring a safe and focused workspace for everyone.
Let’s stitch together not just quilts, but a community of creativity and care.
